Website Review

http://www.apocalypesoon.org/

The apocalypse is not a very common topic so there aren't many websites dedicated to this topic. Most websites are dedicated to the entire book of the bible rather than just one specific book. Some of the websites that are dedicated to the apocalypse usually only offer a summary of the apocalypse and don't even bother to explain it. However the website apocalypse soon is a great website to use if you are trying to find information on what is currently happening with the apocalypse because it is effective, accurate, and credible.

The website does not give you much information on itself, it only tells you that the editor of it is a man named Pietro Arnese and that it was created in 1997. This website is very easy to navigate because everything is laid out in an organized manner. On the intro page you can choose your language, it is given in English, Spanish, Italian, and Esperanto. Once you select your language of preference it takes to a page that lists articles of current events associated with the apocalypse. Some of these articles are created by the website and other are form magazines or other websites. The articles gives the events and the website explains how these events are associated with the apocalypse. All of the information provided by this website is accurate and is related to the apocalypse as well as the Christian faith. The website is rather bias towards the Christian religion as it is the only religion that believes in the apocalypse. It provide you with new with new information very frequently. One of the most recent articles is from november 2008 and it talked about Obama. As you can see the website does get updated regularly which makes it reliable.

Although this website may have an apparent bias towards Christians it is a reliable source of information on the apocalypse. This website provides current events associated with the apocalypse and it explains how these event are related to the apocalypse. Anyone trying to find new information on what is going on with apocalypse could easily find and understand this info by using this website.

Current Affairs

My topic isn't a very commun topic so there isn's much information on it besides the Bible and peoples' interpretations of it. However, a topic that is closely related to my topic is 2012, which is a date predicted by the Mayas of when the world will end. People also believe that 2012 is the date when God will end the world. Another thing christians believe is tied to the Apocalypse is the RFID chip, or also the Verichip, that some people have implanted in their hands. These are all the things happening so far that lead people to believe that the Apocalypse is realy happening.

People think that the world is going to end on december 21, 2012 because it is the year that the Mayas predicted it in their calander. A lot of people believe this because the Mayas had very advanced engineering, math, and astronomy. The Mayas didn't just have one calender they had a variety of them, the calandar used to keep track of a very long time was called a Long Count, which they called The Great Cycle. According to the Long Count calander the Great Cycle ends on the winter solstice of the year 2012 and so does time, therfore the world should end as well.

The RFID chip is a chip about twice the length of a grain of rice and the Verichip is a little square chip the size of a sand pebble (probably smaller) only flat. These chips were FDA aproved on cotober of the year2004 and they were designed to prevent identity theft and they store a lot of information about you in them, such as: your social security number, your address, your phone number, even medical info! These chips (mostly the Verichip) supposeddly have a mark on them that very much resemble the mark of the beast (666). Knowing this elicited terror in many Christians because the bible says that people will bear the mark of the beast in thier right hand or on their forehead, so they believe that this is the mark that the bible is talking about.

These are current events that relate to the apocalypse. Although we don't know for sure if they have anything to do with the end of the world, it is definitly terrifing to think that the world is coming to an end.
